From Argentina to Austin 🇦🇷✨
Meet Clara, an exchange student from UADE in Argentina who spent Fall 2024 studying at St. Edward’s University! 🌎💛
“I couldn’t be more grateful for the experience and everything it gave me.
First, the amazing people I met — everyone was genuinely committed to making you feel welcome. From the professors, who were always there to help and ensure you understood the valuable lessons, to the International Students Office, making sure we had a great time, and the students who included us in every activity so we never felt alone. I was amazed at how everyone would greet you, and within just a couple of weeks, I truly felt part of the community.
My favorite moments were definitely the breaks between classes — walking through Meadows and bumping into friends to chat. What started as a small table for two quickly grew into a big group sharing stories about their day.
The city of Austin also holds a special place in my heart now. It’s a beautiful city, with the Colorado River flowing through it, live music everywhere (the White Horse quickly became my favorite spot), and a wonderfully diverse community that makes it truly unique. Every time I looked out at the cityscape from the hilltop, I was overwhelmed with emotion — it’s hard to put into words.
There were plenty of trips too! I traveled to Chicago with other exchange students, and for Thanksgiving, we organized a road trip to Colorado — one of the best experiences of my life.
So, as you can see, my exchange semester couldn’t have been better. I have the best memories and am incredibly thankful for everything St. Edward’s gave me. I hope to come back soon!”
