Santosh Panjwani devoted his life to education and instilled that same commitment in his son, Manny. Now, Manny and his wife, Manju, are carrying his legacy forward through an endowment at the College of Education that will support juniors and seniors with demonstrated financial need who are preparing to become teachers. The college also dedicated the Huddle Room, a student space, in Santosh's honor.

“From this day forward, students will come into this room to learn, connect and work together,” says Victor Sáenz, associate dean of Student Success, Community Engagement and Administration. “These spaces have stories behind them—stories of people and families who believe in education and in what it can make possible.”

Before Texas kicked off against Ohio State, the UT sport management community came together for one of its favorite traditions: the 4th annual Sport Management Alumni & Friends Tailgate. 🤘

Founded by Bryan ('91) and Andree Moynihan, the annual tailgate has become a meaningful opportunity for alumni, donors, students, faculty and friends to connect, catch up and celebrate the impact of the sport management program.
This year’s event welcomed alumni from across the sports industry, including Jack Settleman (B.S. ’18), creator and CEO of Snapback Sports, and Kaitlin Gascoyne (B.S. ’18), basketball marketing executive and client manager at Creative Artists Agency. Their accomplishments reflect the many ways sport management alumni continue to make an impact in the industry.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this year’s tailgate a success. The strength of the Longhorn network is built through connections like these, and we look forward to continuing this tradition for years to come.

UT Elementary School in East Austin is partnering with the UT Meadows Center for Preventing Educational Risk and research professor Elizabeth Swanson to improve reading outcomes among emergent bilingual students. Through Computer-Assisted Collaborative Strategic Reading, students who share a home language work together using an online platform to strengthen reading comprehension skills.
