Our SBA is hosting an Eat and Greet on campus tonight at 5:30 with a Q&A in Classroom 2 immediately following at 6pm.

Come chit chat, ask some questions, and grab a bite to eat before class.

Monday night, Kern County showed up.
Current students, incoming students, faculty, staff, alumni, family, and local industry leaders. Our Hybrid option students who selected KCCL as their campus also showed up.

The energy in the college reflected exactly what KCCL is built on. Community. Access. Possibility.

If you’re new, Orientation is Monday, August 3.

If you’re returning, we hope you’re enjoying your much deserved time off. Classes begin August 17.

To our students tonight: day one is behind you.
However it felt in there, it is not a prediction. Everyone walks out of day one thinking the same thing.
Rest. Tomorrow is the last one.

If you are an alum who has been in that room: leave a note below. They will read it when they come up for air Wednesday night.

The reason most people in Kern County never go to law school is not ability. It is that nobody told them it was available here.

Libby Downey enrolled at 86. She is 88 now, two years into her Masters in Legal Studies at our Monterey campus. Before that she was a nurse, a city council member, and a member of nearly 40 boards. In high school she was told her options were nurse, teacher, or secretary, so that is where she started.

Most of our Bakersfield students hear a shorter version of that list. Kern County College of Law exists so the list gets longer. Classes are held downtown in the evening, so you keep your job while you earn the degree.
