•Why did you start wrestling and why?
“I started wrestling my sophomore year of high school! My sister had wrestled the year prior and after some convincing, I chose to try it out too!”

•What are some of your best memories in the sport?
“Some of my favorite wrestling memories were with my sister. I was fortunate enough to be her practice partner during her senior year. She pushed me and put up with me through all the hardship that the first year of wrestling brought.”

•What do you like most about the sport?
“There is a lot to love about wrestling! It is such a challenging sport both physically and mentally. It has truly made me the person I am today. I also love the look on people’s faces when they find out I wrestle!”

•Who has been the biggest motivating person in your wrestling journey?
“My family and my partner have been the biggest motivators through this process. My family chases me on the road and has provided me the opportunity to do this. There is no pressure, only love and pride. Both my family and my partner, while there for my success, are also the first people to hug me or answer the phone after the hardest days when I need them most.”

•What are your goals for this year’s team?
“My goal for the team this year is to create a culture that allows for everyone to be themselves while also growing together as ONE. We need one another to succeed! We may step on the mat alone but it is so important to know who you have in your corner!”

•What does it mean to you to be chosen by your teammates to be a captain?
“To be chosen as I captain is an honor. My teammates are the reason I am the athlete and leader I am today. I have immense pride in wearing Baker across my chest and hope I can be the teammate and leader they need!”

•What is your go to pre-match song?
“I don’t have a pre-match song, but I do carry the same water bottle with me that I’ve had since my first ever match.”

•Why did you start wrestling and why?
“I started wrestling in 5th grade which was 10 years ago and I am about to start my 11th year! I started wrestling because my brothers did wrestling and I wanted to do a different sport.”

•Favorite thing about the sport of wrestling?
“My favorite thing about the sport of wrestling is the people I have met in the sport and who it has shaped me to be!”

•Who has been the biggest motivating person in your wrestling journey?”
“My dad has the been the most motivating person in my career he is always supporting me and helping me to grow as a wrestler and a person he has always been in my corner!”

•What are your goals for this year’s team?
“My goals for team this year is to win and have fun doing it!!”

•What does it mean to you to be chosen by your teammates to be a captain?
“It means a lot and it shows the impact I leave on people!”

•What is your go to pre match song?
“Depends on the day and the vibe”

𝘾𝙊𝙈𝙈𝙄𝙏𝙏𝙀𝘿 ‼️ The start to our Class of ‘27 commits just got even better with the addition KS State Champion Lexi Wall from Circle HS, one of the state’s best 💥Lexi has placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at State and has an 84-7 career HS record. Also a Regional Champion and 3x finalist. She has been a Freestyle & Greco State champ and 4x placer. She is a Team KS National Duals & Fargo Qualifier, as well. She is a dedicated hard worker and tough-minded competitor, ready to take her talents and skills to the next level.

Lexi is also an Honor Roll student and all-around great person, a great fit for our BU culture and program.

From Coach Harris: “Lexi is not just a great wrestler, she is a true competitor, and that’s another whole dimension of winning wrestling. She will have a great career at BU because of that, she has what it takes to keep getting better, and the push & drive to win and also help others around her win, too. We are very excited to have her join what we are building here at Baker U, she is a bigtime addition to our program.:”

From Lexi: “I chose Baker because from the moment I stepped on the campus and met the people and coaches, I knew I was where I belonged.”

•When did you start wrestling and why?
“My mom told me I couldn’t wrestle, so first thing I joined freshman year was the wrestling team! I thought that wrestling looked really fun and I wanted to try something new.”

•Best wrestling memory so far?
“My favorite wrestling memory is when I got to watch my team compete on senior night last year and came away with some DUBSS!!! I love getting to celebrate my teammates and cheer them on.”

•What is your favorite thing about the sport of wrestling?
“My favorite thing about the sport of wrestling is the individuality of creating your own style of wrestling while having a big family there to back you up every step of the way. I love that no matter the outcome of your match there is always someone there to support you.”

•Who have been the biggest motivating people in your wrestling journey?
“My parents have definitely been the most motivating people in my journey. Especially after having surgery my parents really got me through the hardest days. My mom always makes sure I have snacks and energy drinks and is the loudest one in the stands and my dad encourages me to go on runs with him and is the first person I want to go to after a tough loss.”

•What are your goals for the team this season?
“I want our team to grow together, mentally, physically, and just together closer as a team. I think one of the most important parts of competing is feeling supported and I think we have the perfect opportunity to be that for each other.”

•What does it mean to you to be chosen by your teammates to be a captain?
“I feel really proud that my team chose me to be one of their captains. I love Baker wrestling and I’m excited to help lead us all to success, on and off the mat.”

•What is your go to pre match song?
“Seven Nation Army - The White Stripes”
