RIZZO Career Center at Loyola University Maryland http://www.loyola.edu/thecareercenter This is an on-going, lifetime activity.

The RIZZO Career Center at Loyola University Maryland helps students and alumni discover their career passion by integrating the Jesuit core values and introducing a process of personal discovery and discernment. This process assists students with discovering their unique talents and gifts and their life’s direction in relationship to their individual needs and their connections with others in a community. The RIZZO Career Center offers many services to assist in this process, and continuously strives to educate, develop community, and promote partnerships with students, alumni/ae, faculty, employers and members of the college community. Career Advisors are available year-round to discuss anything career-related, such as choosing or changing a major, clarifying interests, obtaining part-time and summer job and/or internship experiences, planning and conducting a professional job search, obtaining full-time employment, changing careers and selecting and being admitted to graduate school.

Happy LCA Friday!

Every Friday, we'll be introducing a new Loyola Career Ambassador who's joined our team this year.

Meet Jocelyn Zamora-Rojas!

Jocelyn is a senior majoring in Accounting and Marketing, with minors in Information Systems and Management Consulting.

On campus, Jocelyn is a member of the Sellinger Scholars Program, Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), Alpha Sigma Nu (ASN), Beta Alpha Psi (BAP), Loyola Marketing Ambassadors (LMA), Loyola Consulting Group (LCG), and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA).

After graduation, Jocelyn plans to become a CPA and pursue a career in auditing.

When asked what she's looking forward to while being an LCA, she answered: "I'm most excited about being a resource for students while also continuing to learn alongside them throughout the year."

FUN FACT: Jocelyn is a photographer and spends her free time taking photos in new places!

Happy Spotlight Sunday! 🌟 Every Sunday we will be spotlighting our Greyhounds’ summer internships and sharing the valuable information they learned along the way.

Meet Brianne Krutz!

Brianne is a junior Political Science major with a minor in Sociology. She's also on a pre-law track. On campus, Brianne is the Secretary of the Pre-Law Society and serves on the Executive Board. She's also participated in expungement clinics, which gave her the chance to gain hands-on legal experience while helping members of the community.

This summer, Brianne interned with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey as an Equity & Inclusion intern. She found this job by reaching out to the keynote speaker from her sister's college graduation, who happened to be on the Port Authority's Board of Commissioners. He was able to connect her with recruiters and get her talking to the right people! In this role, she spent time analyzing the 2026 Budget and 2026–2035 Capital Plan and turning complex financial and project information into clear summaries and presentations. She also worked with contract data and firm lists, tracked construction projects, and helped prepare participation memos related to opportunities for small, minority-, and women-owned businesses.


One piece of advice Brianne has for students searching for internships is: "Don’t be afraid to reach out to someone just because you don’t know where the conversation might go. Some of the best opportunities can start with one email. I’d also encourage students to keep networking once they actually get the internship. I made an effort to have one-on-one conversations with people throughout the Port Authority, and those ended up being some of the most valuable parts of my summer. I learned about career paths I hadn’t considered before and got advice that I’ll carry with me long after the internship."

Happy Spotlight Sunday! 🌟 Every Sunday we will be spotlighting our Greyhounds’ summer internships and sharing the valuable information they learned along the way.

Meet Samantha Vitale!

Samantha is a senior Communications & Media and Political Science major. On campus, Samantha does Club Volleyball, writes for The Greyhound, volunteers at the Karson Institute, and participates in Pi Epsilon Pi and Lambda Pi Eta.

This summer, Samantha interned with H2M Architects & Engineers as a Marketing Intern. Her role was to help out with internal communications, create and edit social media posts, learn photography and InDesign basics, and attend events associated with different disciplines.

One piece of advice Samantha has for students searching for internships is: "Do not be afraid to be yourself during the application process. It can be daunting, but recruiters are looking for good team members."

Every Friday, we'll be introducing a new Loyola Career Ambassador who's joined our team this year.

Meet Caroline Habiger!

Caroline is a senior majoring in Psychology and Leadership & Management Consulting.

On campus, Caroline is a Greyhound Ambassador, a member of the Loyola Honors Program, a Habitat for Humanity site leader, and sings in Loyola’s Chapel Choir!

After graduation, Caroline plans to pursue a master's degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology.

When asked what she's looking forward to while being an LCA, she answered: "I am most excited to help my peers develop their self-confidence on their career development journey."
