We had the opportunity to Tap In with Mr. Brad M. Edwards, director of community engagement and program strategy for Dear Fathers and a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.!

Mr. Edwards has made it his mission to create strong pathways to successful fatherhood while reinforcing the message that Black fathers rock! Through mentorship, strategic programming, and education, he amplifies the stories of fathers committed to strengthening their households and shaping the next generation of dads.

He also serves as the director of men’s programming for The Doula Lab, an organization dedicated to empowering men throughout the birthing process and equipping them to serve as advocates, partners, and protectors.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. gives you a special behind the scenes look at the cover photo shoot for the highly anticipated Special Political Edition of The Sphinx magazine at the MLK Memorial on the National Mall.



The Sphinx magazine assembled the Fraternity’s General President Lucien J. Metellus, Jr. and its Regional leadership for the iconic photo, which highlights ‘The Battle For The Ballot’ and clarifies what’s at stake in the upcoming 2026 Midterm Elections.

This is the ‘Battle For The Ballot.’ Check out the premiere of “JUST VOTE!” – Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.’s second of two national ‘Get Out The Vote’ commercials to specifically target disengaged African American males aged 18-35 to vote in the upcoming midterm elections. The commercial will appear on Connected TV, Tubi, in select movie theaters, streaming radio, and social media, including Facebook, and Instagram from Oct. 16 through Nov. 3. The Fraternity’s first national commercial in its campaign, “THET PAID THE PRICE. NOW IT’S YOUR TURN.’ aired from Oct. 1 through Oct. 15, which encouraged voter registration and voting.

JUSTICE. ACCOUNTABILITY. ACTION.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. recognizes the students of Johnson C. Smith University who took to the streets of Charlotte today to demand justice for Nolan Wells, an 18-year-old Black college football player whose death in Mississippi continues to raise serious questions.

Their voices also bring attention to the deaths of Juliana Nzita and Curtis Massey, along with growing concerns surrounding racial bias and accountability within the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Our communities deserve answers. Our families deserve transparency. Our people deserve justice.

The fight for justice does not end with awareness. It requires action, accountability, and a continued commitment to protecting Black lives.

The Fall 2026 Special Political Edition of The Sphinx Magazine is coming soon.

This edition declares ‘The Battle For the Ballot.’ It clarifies what’s at stake for African Americans in the upcoming midterm and the next general elections, compiles a timeline of African American progress, challenges, and setbacks since our arrival in this country as well assembles a collection of political perspectives from across the Fraternity, including elected officials, commentators, and advocates.



The magazine will be available first in digital format, and then, later in a print edition.
