Meet men’s basketball faculty-coach Constanza Miranda! 🏀🔥

A passionate mentor, educator, and Blue Jay supporter, Miranda is bringing her energy to Johns Hopkins men’s basketball as part of the faculty-coach initiative. As assistant dean for undergraduate mentoring in the Whiting School of Engineering and an associate teaching professor in biomedical engineering, she’s all about helping scholar-athletes thrive on the court, in the classroom, and beyond.

Her goal? To be “part of their constellation of mentors” and help students make the most of their Hopkins experience.

🎉 Congratulations to Hopkins BME PhD student Nikita Sivakumar on receiving the NTT Research Foundation Fellowship!

The fellowship recognizes her academic excellence, leadership, and community engagement, and will support her doctoral research for up to three years. Nikita’s work combines advanced imaging and computational modeling to better understand how immune cells drive infection, vaccination, and disease outcomes. 👏

Wrapping up an amazing ISPEED summer program with student presentations showcasing innovation, creativity, and teamwork!

Our students shared impressive design projects, including an upper arm wearable device that continuously monitors electrolyte levels, an adjustable branch stent for treating coronary bifurcation, and a wearable vest designed to track progressive cardiac deterioration. They also presented posters highlighting their lab work with cardiomyocytes.

We’re so proud of their hard work and can’t wait to see what they do next!
