featuring Bernadette Kim PC ‘25! ✨

Bernadette is a junior studying International Studies with a minor in Marketing & Communications. She is originally from New Jersey. Aside from Pi Phi, she is involved in the American Marketing Association and its consulting arm, NEST Strategies. Outside of campus, Bernadette has pursued experiences in marketing, PR, and consulting, which she hope to continue exploring after college.

Learn about Bernadette’s reasons for choosing Pi Phi and what she loves most about our sisterhood:

“I initially joined Pi Phi because I was drawn to how many different kinds of women I met during recruitment. Our chapter brings together people with completely different interests and paths—from pre-med to pre-law to business and the humanities—and I loved the idea of finding a community outside of my own academic and professional circles.

What has made me stay, though, is how close I’ve become with my sisters. Pi Phi has given me the chance to form friendships with people I may never have met otherwise and create some of my favorite college memories with them. One of my favorite parts of my experience has been my Pham. My Big, Jasmine, has always been incredibly supportive and genuinely wants the best for me, and I’ve loved being able to give that same support to my Littles. We’re always looking out for each other.

I also love that the Pi Phi network extends far beyond the people I see every day. I recently met my GGGGBig at a Life Design Lab event where she was representing Deloitte. Since consulting is a career path I’m interested in pursuing, it was such a cool full-circle moment to realize that a connection I made through Pi Phi could also become someone I could learn from professionally. To me, that really represents what I love about Pi Phi: it’s given me friendships, mentors, memories, and a community that I know will extend beyond my time at Hopkins.”
