“Hi! I’m Adria, a rising sophomore at JHU from way southwest in Las Cruces, New Mexico. I’m currently pursuing a double major in Applied Mathematics & Statistics and Moral & Political Economy. Outside of class, you’ll usually find me singing with my a capella group, Vocal Cords, attempting to learn piano, or working on Canvas pages for the university.

During recruitment, I was immediately drawn to Pi Phi’s kind, gentle, and welcoming atmosphere. From the very beginning, no one expected me to be anything other than myself. I never felt the need to put on a pretense, or become someone else to fit in.

It’s easy to feel like you’re “too little,” “too much,” or even “too nice,” but I’ve never been “too” anything for Pi Phi. I was simply accepted as I am.

Many of my closest friends accepted Pi Phi bids alongside me, and together we’ve built a community where I’ve never felt more known or more understood. No matter what I’m going through, there’s always someone who relates, someone who listens, and someone whose quirks perfectly complement my own.

What I love most about Pi Phi is that we’re all encouraged to be ourselves. There’s something special about being surrounded by people who celebrate authenticity, kindness, and individuality, and I’m so grateful to call them my sisters.”

FOUNDERS DAY 🏹🤍

Today we celebrate 159 years of sisterhood and lifelong friendships!🫂🫂

Pi Beta Phi was founded on April 28, 1867 by 12 young women at Monmouth College. They were the first to establish the sisterhood that we know and love today!

On March 29th, our angels were fortunate enough to celebrate Founder’s Day with some amazing Pi Phi alumni. Thank you to the Baltimore Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club for putting together a wonderful afternoon and giving us the opportunity to connect with Pi Phi alumni! Also, shoutout to alumni Cynthia B. and Barbara C. for helping to create a beautiful celebration and memorable experience for our sisters!

NATIONAL READ ACROSS AMERICA DAY 📖

Today is a day to celebrate the privilege of being able to read. Our philanthropic efforts support Read > Lead > Achieve, which aims to increase literacy rates and empower young children.

Our VP Community Relations, Lorena Jurado, wanted to share a message about our philanthropy:

“Philanthropy, to me, means investing in the future of our communities. As Vice President of Community Relations, I’ve had the privilege of helping our chapter bring this mission to life. Every book shared, every hour volunteered, and every conversation about education matters. Literacy opens doors. Philanthropy isn’t just something we do, it’s who we are when we choose to lead with empathy, purpose, and heart. 🩵📖”

Also, happy birthday Dr. Seuss!
