The founders of Kappa Upsilon chapter envisioned for our organization a unique brotherhood that would eschew the traditional norms of fraternities. Instead, they sought to instill a lasting culture of values and ideals that would guide the chapter in everything that it did. They worked to build a close-knit group of lifelong friends who would be leaders in their own right on campus and in the comm

unity, who would hold each other accountable, and who would use the fraternity as a tool to harness the collective power of their individual strengths in order to improve the Johns Hopkins experience for all. That mission remains very much alive today, engrained in the day-to-day activities of the fraternity and its brothers. As our chapter was founded with the intention of making a difference on our campus and in the world, we are committed to service to our community. Each year, our brothers volunteer for numerous campus events, including Freshmen Orientation and Move-In each September. Every Halloween, we throw a free Haunted House for neighborhood children, a tradition that was started by our founding brothers and continues to this day.
