Graduate Student Anna Choudary has been doing some amazing work recently as part of her internship with UMBC's Special Collections.
After the Maryland Women’s Heritage Center lost funding in January 2026, much of the Baltimore Women's Industrial Exchange’s archives were moved into Anna’s care for her thesis research. Through her internship at UMBC Special Collections, Anna surveyed more than 200 items, created a processing plan, as well as a finding aid to prepare the collection for donation and public access. Anna's work and dedication to the project helped deepen her understanding of archival preservation, and the Baltimore Women's Industrial Exchange’s place in both local, and broader history of the United States.
