October is National Women’s Small Business Month, and we are celebrating the women who had an idea and had the courage, determination, and drive to build something of their own.

From first-time entrepreneurs to seasoned business owners, women are turning their talents, expertise, and creativity into businesses that make an impact.

Let's kick off the celebration with a spotlight! Tag a woman entrepreneur and tell us the name of her business and what she does. Let us fill the comments with women doing business.

Black women are about 40% more likely to die from breast cancer than white women, and are more often diagnosed younger and at later stages. Early detection changes that outcome.

Three actions this month:

🩷Schedule your mammogram. Screening starts at 40, earlier with a family history.

🩷Learn your family history and share it with your doctor.

🩷Ask one woman you love whether she has booked hers.

Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Incorporated, a business and professional women's sorority, honors every survivor, every woman in treatment, and every family carrying a loss.

Awareness. Advocacy. Action.

Your Name Belongs on the Roll

Every ballot starts with a name on a list. This is Voter Registration Week.

Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Incorporated was founded in 1943, when much of this country still kept Black women from the ballot box. We inherited the access they were denied, and we are expected to use it.

This week:

1. Check your status at vote.gov.
2. Register or update your record before your state’s deadline.
3. Bring one more woman with you.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.

September is National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month. Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Incorporated encourages healthy minds and healthy bodies.

We can all model healthy behaviors to our youth. Four simple steps can lead to healthier bodies.

🍏Five servings of fruit and vegetables a day.
⏳Two hours or less of recreational screen time.
🏃🏾‍♀️One hour of movement.
🚰Zero sugary drinks.

A family can remember and use this at the dinner table, in the car, and on a Saturday morning. Fill half the plate with produce. Cap the screen time before the evening wind down. Move together, even if it is only a walk around the block. Trade the soda for water.

Small, repeatable choices change outcomes over time. We can create healthier communities, one household at a time.

September 11, 2026 marks twenty-five years since the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Incorporated holds this day in prayer for the families who lost loved ones, the survivors who carry what that morning left behind, and the first responders who ran toward danger to valiantly support those in need.

We keep those families, those survivors, and this nation in our prayers today.

Community change doesn't happen from the sidelines. The Sorors of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Incorporated are in it, civic rooms and social spaces alike, doing the work that moves things forward.

We take the same posture with each other. A phone call before a hard meeting. A seat saved. A hand extended without being asked twice. That's the sisterhood our Founders built, and it's the one we protect.

Tag the Soror who always shows up for you. 🦋

Happy , Sorors! A NEW Sorority Year is here! And with a new year comes new opportunities to lead boldly, serve intentionally, grow together, and leave an even greater impact. As we step into 2026–2027, let’s remember that the strength of Gamma is not just in what we accomplish individually, but in what we can accomplish together.

To our Sorors: Show up. Step up. Pour in. Make your mark.

To our families, friends, partners, and supporters: thank you for continuing to believe in and stand behind the women of Gamma as we move our mission forward and make a difference in the communities we serve.

September is National Sickle Cell Awareness Month.

The observance became official in 1983, when the Congressional Black Caucus carried a resolution through the House and President Reagan signed the proclamation. Forty-three years later, the work is not finished.

Roughly 100,000 people in the United States live with sickle cell disease, and more than 90 percent of them are Black.

Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Incorporated recognizes this month to raise awareness and support for those living with this devastating disease.
