Random Spotlight: Dr. Poula Hanna, senior resident, talking about his favorite things about our program.

Poula Hanna MD, DDS is originally from Tampa Florida. He attended University of South Florida for his undergraduate degree. He then earned his dental degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. He then matched at the University of Maryland for his residency and was able to complete his medical degree at the University of Maryland medical school. During his free time, he enjoys playing video games, golfing and fishing. You can always count on him to drop a poorly timed joke in a serious situation and lower the tensions in the room šŸ˜‚ He also enjoys sleeping randomly in lectures!

Happy PA week to our favorite and most amazing PA, Meghan LaVigne!!

Meghan LaVigne, MSPAS, PA-C, is a Board Certified PA practicing in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. With 14 years of experience practicing in surgical specialties, she has spent the past decade caring for adult and pediatric patients across a broad scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including head and neck cancer, microvascular reconstruction, cleft and craniofacial conditions, facial trauma and temporomandibular joint disorders. LaVigne is a dedicated advocate for expanding the PA role in surgical specialties and is passionate about mentoring future PA students. We are so lucky to have her on our team!

Random spotlight - whatā€™s your favorite part about Maryland?

Dr. Jack Davidson, chief resident, talking about his favorite aspects of the program. Dr. Davidson is originally from Tampa, Florida but has been a Baltimorean for the past 9 years. He earned his dental degree from the University of Maryland Dental School followed by a non-categorical year then a 4 year residency at our program. He plans to join a private practice in Florida after he graduates.

Here is a recap of our last two days at AAOMS - our chief resident, Dr. Kreisheh, got to present a poster and our 3rd year resident, Dr. Ryan, presented an abstract. Many of our faculty moderated, lectured on various topics and presented their research. We were able to also see a lot of our alumni and celebrate their successes! Seattle, you have been good to us!
