Rooted in heritage. Driven by student success. πŸ’™πŸ’›

For Dr. Rivera, his Boricua roots, bilingual upbringing, and journey as a first-generation college graduate continue to shape the educator he is today. At Coppin, he uses those experiences to champion student success and remind Eagles of the transformative power of education.

πŸ’™ β€œWhat advice would you give to a student who feels alone?”

In recognition of National Su***de Prevention Month, we asked our Eagles to share words of encouragement, support, and advice for fellow students who may be feeling alone or going through a difficult time.

In collaboration with the SheCare Wellness Pods and the Center for Counseling and Accessibility, Coppin State University is reminding our campus community that no Eagle has to navigate difficult moments alone. πŸ¦…πŸ’™

A powerful night of conversation, culture, and community at Coppin State University. πŸ¦…πŸ“š

Coppin welcomed Colin Kaepernick to Eagle Nation for a special conversation surrounding The Perilous Fight, his journey, and the experiences that have shaped his work.

Kaepernick was joined in conversation by award-winning media personality and Higher Learning co-host Van Lathan. The evening also welcomed special guests, including Baltimore Mayor Brandon M. Scott and former NBA All-Star and Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson.

From Coppin students and Baltimore youth to community leaders and special guests, the room was filled for an unforgettable evening of conversation, reflection, and connection.

A special shoutout to Urban Reads Bookstore for supplying the books and helping make this special experience possible for our community. πŸ“šπŸ‘πŸΎ

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this a memorable moment for Coppin State and the Baltimore community. πŸ’™πŸ’›

πŸ¦…πŸ’™ Coppin Student Spotlight: Jaden Gross

At Coppin State University, our Eagles are turning their talents into opportunities and making their mark beyond the Nest.

This month, we’re highlighting Jaden Gross, a Coppin State Marketing student, licensed cosmetologist, and entrepreneur who is building her future through creativity, business, and determination.

From the classroom to growing her brand, Jaden represents the drive and ambition found throughout Eagle Nation. Her journey was recently featured by Bold Journey, where she shared more about her path, the lessons that have shaped her, and her passion for creating opportunities in the beauty industry.

Jaden’s story is another example of how Coppin Eagles are combining their education with their talents to create their own paths forward.

πŸ’™πŸ¦… Keep soaring, Jaden! Eagle Nation is proud of you.

πŸŽ“πŸ’™ Coppin State University and CareFirst are celebrating another year of partnership and opportunity!

The CareFirst Coppin State Scholars Program kicked off with 65 scholars from Health Sciences, Health Information Management, and Nursing. 🩺

Scholars had the opportunity to network, connect with CareFirst leaders and Coppin faculty, and hear from a CareFirst Scholar graduate about their journey.

We’re proud to celebrate these future healthcare professionals as they continue building the knowledge, connections, and experiences that will help them make a difference in their communities.

Congratulations to our 2026 CareFirst Scholars! πŸ¦…πŸ‘

πŸ”¬ From the classroom to cutting-edge cancer research.

Coppin State University senior and biology major Mariam Oyelade spent her summer gaining hands-on experience in cancer research at the University of Maryland School of Medicine through the Nathan Schnaper Intern Program in Translational Cancer Research.

During the internship, Mariam contributed to research involving CAR-T cell therapy and presented her work at UMSOM’s annual Student Research Forum alongside more than 160 student researchers.

The experience brings Mariam another step closer to her goal of becoming a pediatric oncologist while demonstrating the opportunities Coppin students are pursuing beyond the classroom.

πŸ¦… We’re proud to see our Eagles gaining real-world experience, contributing to important research, and preparing to make an impact in STEM and health care.
