This Saturday, IMET will join the Girl STEM Powerment Event at New Town High School as part of the Maryland STEM Festival, connecting young women with STEM professionals and giving them a chance to explore the people, careers, and possibilities behind science.

As the event organizers put it: “If you can’t see it, you can’t be it.”

Stop by the IMET booth, meet scientists, ask questions, and see where a future in STEM could take you.

This leadership role will oversee sponsored research administration and financial management across IMET’s collaborative research environment, working with faculty and researchers affiliated with UMCES, UMBC, and UMB. The position will play a key role in supporting research operations, grant administration, reporting and compliance while helping ensure our scientists have the administrative infrastructure they need to advance their work.

🎉 Big news at UMCES!

Dr. Nina Lamba has accepted the role of our first-ever Executive Director for Innovation and Commercialization.

In this new position, Nina will lead efforts to turn UMCES science into real-world solutions — driving tech transfer, new ventures, and commercialization across the institution.

She’ll continue her role as Assistant Director at IMET alongside this new appointment.
