The Día de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead) is a meso-American/Mexican holiday for the remembrance of loved ones who have passed away. Taking place on November 2 every year, many families, schools, and businesses set up altars to honor their loved ones with pictures and meaningful items (think of the movie Coco). All of us at LMSA wanted to share this tradition with you, and we have set up a Día de los Mu***os altar on the 2nd floor of AMEB. We think this is especially meaningful during the pandemic, since many of us have lost loved ones and friends recently. Please feel free to bring pictures of your loved ones to place on the altar (pets are welcome too, we got this question earlier!). You may place them on the table if they're framed or taped/pinned to the corkboard behind the table (if we run out of space, we can set up additional corkboards).

On the Day of the Dead, Nov 2, we will be by the altar from 12-1 p.m. passing out traditional (and delicious) Day of the Dead bread and sugar skulls in grab-and-go bags. We would love to see you all there!
