This month’s Global Changemaker is Ken Knowlton ’07.

Ken transferred to Goucher College with an interest in political science and international relations. Today, they bring that same international perspective to their work as a director of delivery at Schmidt Sciences, LLC.

Ken says, “Goucher’s liberal arts foundation taught me to think across disciplines and ask, ‘why does this work this way’, before accepting the status quo. That instinct has shaped my entire career.” That’s great to hear, Ken!

Last fall, Goucher students partnered with residents of Edenwald Senior Living to create a quilt exploring the history and ongoing fight for women’s rights. Each student created a quilt block inspired by a different aspect of feminist history, while Edenwald’s quilting group shared their skills, stories and experiences along the way.

The project became more than a work of art — it became an intergenerational exchange of creativity, history and community.
