What is Sean Hogan, RLB Library's Assistant Director for Access Services & Facilities, reading this summer? He recently read Fuzz: When Nature Breaks the Law by Mary Roach, and is currently reading Semi Famous: A True Story of Near Celebrity by Josh Sundquist.

"I like all Mary Roach books and recommend any of them. I grabbed the Josh Sundquist book off the cart at Enoch Pratt as part of their summer reading program."

What is Michael Shochet, RLB's Director of the Library, reading this summer? He's reading Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler and Appreciative Inquiry in Higher Education by Jeanie Cockell and Joan McArthur-Blair.

"I obtained a copy of Parable of the Sower through Enoch Pratt’s Summer Break Baltimore program. The novel presents a dystopian future that is, at times, uncomfortably close to reality. Despite everything, the protagonist is able to inspire others and work towards change largely through approaching everyone with kindness. I am reading Appreciative Inquiry in Higher Education to better integrate this approach to change management into the library’s practice. I am drawn to the emphasis Appreciative Inquiry places on storytelling and working towards buildings desired future."
