A group of dedicated Baltimoreans, led by Drs. Ali and Jonathan Furr, combined their passion for running and the beach by completing a 63-mile relay from Cambridge, Maryland, through Ocean City, to Bethany Beach on Thursday, August 13, 2026. Running in teams of two and three for 12 relay legs of 5 miles each, they set out to "Reach the Beach" all for a great cause.
For the seventh consecutive year, the Reach the Beach Team is raising funds to support the UMB CURE Scholars Program, helping empower the next generation of STEM leaders.
The campaign isn't over yet! Donations are still being accepted through August 21 at 11:59 PM EDT. Every contribution helps provide life-changing opportunities for our scholars.
