Alumni on the Rise Spotlight: Isabelle Proctor
Class of 2026
A rising second-year law student at Northern Kentucky University’s Salmon P. Chase College of Law, Isabelle participated in Union’s 3+3 pathway through its articulation agreement with Chase, allowing her to complete her Union degree while completing her first year of law school.
She currently serves as a Law Clerk with the City of Covington City Solicitor’s Office, where she conducts legal research on municipal issues, assists with legal correspondence and litigation, and helps revise ordinances. Through this role, she has seen firsthand how the legal profession can make a direct impact in a community and gained a deeper appreciation for civic engagement and local government.
While Isabelle has not yet chosen a specific area of law, her career aspirations center on advocating for and serving vulnerable populations with empathy, respect, and diligence. She credits Union with teaching her the importance of community, humility, and meaningful relationships.
One of her favorite Union memories was participating in the tutoring program. As someone who has always loved learning and education, she found fulfillment in helping students build confidence and develop time management, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills. By understanding how each student learned, she worked to make education more approachable and less intimidating.
Union also taught Isabelle the value of networking. Being far from her family in North Carolina could have been isolating, but faculty, staff, and student mentors helped her build connections that continue to enrich her life. She believes connecting with people from diverse backgrounds is invaluable and credits Union with helping her develop the leadership skills she now brings to her approach to advocacy and service in the legal field.
