What a great week it’s been at BRCC!

Our Surgical Tech and Sonography students received a visit from Dr. Sotile and Ms. Sotor from Woman’s Hospital for some extra training leading into Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Office of Student Engagement hosted "Sabor y Saber" (Flavor & Knowledge) as part of Hispanic Heritage Month where students could learn about Hispanic culture, history, and traditions while sampling Hispanic cuisine.

BRCC Career Services hosted the Career Fair where students met with employers to discuss jobs and internship opportunities.

BRCC Human Resources held the Employee Health Benefits Fair so faculty and staff could learn more and prepare to maximize their benefit selections.

Owl rescue on campus! 🦉

Early this morning some of our Nursing and Allied Health students spotted an owl perched in the parking garage and called campus police.

BRCC PD called upon our outstanding Veterinary Tech program faculty members Rebecca Wesley and Madelyn Lackey who safely captured the barred owl with minimal stress to the animal.

He was then transported to LSU School of Veterinary Medicine's Wildlife Hospital where he was assessed and cared for.
