Did you know? Nearly 300,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and 1 in 8 women in America will face it in their lifetime. While progress has been made, awareness alone isn’t enough.
For black and brown communities especially, the fight is even harder - resources and research haven’t always represented us. But Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is working to change that.

Prevention doesn’t end when National Hazing Prevention Week does. It has to live in how we lead, how we serve, and how we show up for one another every day 💙

Knowing what hazing looks like is the first step. Recognizing it takes awareness. Speaking up takes courage. And protecting our Sisterhood takes all of us.

From our newest members to our most seasoned Sorors, we each have a responsibility to help create spaces rooted in safety, accountability, respect, and Finer Womanhood long after this week is over.

Consent does not turn harm into Sisterhood.

“I agreed to it” should never become a shield for behavior that humiliates, degrades, intimidates, or causes harm.

Tradition is not proven by what someone is willing to endure. It is reflected in what we choose to preserve, protect, and pass forward.

Our legacy is stronger when it is rooted in dignity, safety, accountability, respect, and genuine Sisterhood.

Some traditions deserve to continue. Harm does not.

Hazing Prevention Week Spotlight

"Zeta led the change from pledging to the membership intake process in the 90's. It is my feeling that a sorority should be a choice that a woman makes to join a group and they should not be hazed or intimidated in any way in the process of joining. Hazing Prevention Week Spotlight

"I believe it is important for Zetas to lead the charge in hazing prevention because we have a responsibility to make sure our actions reflect the principles and values we represent. Finer Womanhood and Sisterhood should be demonstrated in how we treat one another, especially when welcoming and developing new members. We cannot promote sisterhood while allowing behaviors that humiliate, intimidate, or harm others.

Becoming Anti-Hazing Certified gave me another opportunity to grow as a Zeta and to help protect the organization and sisterhood that means so much to me. Hazing Prevention Week Spotlight - Soror Dr. Christal Carroll-Johnson:

"It is important that Zetas lead the charge in hazing prevention because our sisterhood should be built on Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood, not fear, humiliation, or harm. As Zetas, we have a responsibility to create a safe and respectful environment while protecting the legacy of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.

I became Anti-Hazing Certified because, as a Zeta and an Advisor, I want to do more than simply say 'I am against hazing.' I want to be educated, prepared, and intentional about recognizing and preventing harmful behaviors. For me, it is about protecting our members, strengthening our sisterhood, and being part of the solution." - Soror Christal Carroll-Johnson
