The START Saving Program is Louisiana's 529 College Savings Plan, administered by LOSFA.

Qualified higher education expenses such as tuition & fees, supplies, equipment, and transportation can be paid with funds from your START account.

If the funds are used to pay for these expenses, the earnings are exempt from both state and federal taxes.

The Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA) will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

The Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA) staff will participate in a mandatory all-staff training on Monday, August 31.

While the LOSFA office will remain open, staff availability will be limited, and visitors may experience delays or reduced access to direct assistance.
