đź’Ľ Real-World Experience Starts at LSU đź’śđź’›

Meet Sydney Bruchhaus, a senior from Elton, Louisiana, proud alumna of the Elton High School FFA Chapter, and former 2022–2023 Louisiana FFA State Secretary. Now majoring in Agricultural and Extension Education at LSU, Sydney is building a strong foundation for her future through hands-on learning and professional development opportunities.

Through LSU, Sydney earned the opportunity to serve as a marketing intern for John Deere in Des Moines, Iowa, where she gained valuable industry experience while expanding her professional network and leadership skills.

“Attending LSU has helped me grow tremendously both personally and professionally. Through leadership opportunities, group projects, and campus involvement, I’ve become more confident in my communication skills, collaboration, and ability to step outside of my comfort zone. LSU also connected me with industry professionals through networking events and internships, which ultimately led to my internship with John Deere. These experiences have given me valuable real-world experience, expanded my professional network, and helped shape my future career goals.”

Sydney’s journey shows how LSU students are gaining real-world experience, building industry connections, and developing the skills needed to succeed in the future of agriculture. 🌱

🌾 From blue jackets to purple and gold 💜💛

Meet Kinzie Brassell, a proud Lacassine FFA alumna from Lacassine, Louisiana, and the 2024–2025 Louisiana FFA State Secretary! Now a rising sophomore at LSU majoring in Agricultural and Extension Education, Kinzie is pursuing her passion for agricultural policy and advocacy while building her future at LSU.

Why did she choose LSU?

“I chose LSU because it not only encourages learning outside the classroom, but prioritizes it. The opportunities offered through the College of Agriculture to travel, participate in study abroad programs, and gain hands-on experience immediately stood out to me. Being located in our state’s capital has also allowed LSU to deepen my interest in agricultural policy while preparing me for a future career in the field. The faculty and staff have been extremely supportive and truly put students first. For these reasons, I’m so thankful to call Baton Rouge and LSU home!”

From leadership in FFA to leadership at LSU, Kinzie’s story shows how students can grow their passions into purpose. 🌱
