🚑 KCC Paramedic Students Out in the Community! 🚑

Our Paramedic students are out representing Kellogg Community College EMS today at the Olivet High School Career Fair!

We love giving high school students the opportunity to learn more about careers in EMS, ask questions, check out some of the equipment, and hear directly from our students about what it’s like to prepare for a career as a paramedic.

A big thank you to our Paramedic students for representing the program and sharing their passion for EMS with the next generation of first responders! 🚑❤️

Sometimes a call for lift-assist reveals more than meets the eye.

After recognizing that a patient needed specialized care, a Battle Creek, Michigan EMS crew used the MEMAW Geriatric Assessment Tool to help identify the most appropriate hospital for transport, contributing to a favorable patient outcome.

The MEMAW tool was created by Dr. Maia Dorsett, a member of the National Registry Board of Directors, to support clinicians in evaluating older adult patients after a fall and identifying concerns that may warrant additional care.

To recognize the crew for putting the tool into action and advocating for their patient, Dr. Dorsett sent a personal thank-you note and a Division of Prehospital Medicine Save Coin, which our
Partner and Advocacy team had the privilege of delivering in person.

We are proud to celebrate clinicians who look beyond the obvious, ask the right questions, and use the tools available to help ensure their patients receive the care they need.

⭐ KCC EMS Earns Statewide STAR Recognition! ⭐

The Kellogg Community College Paramedic Program has received a Superior Testing Achievement Recognition (STAR) Letter from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services!

Our 2024 paramedic graduates achieved a pass rate of 90% or higher by their third attempt, placing KCC among Michigan’s top-performing EMS education programs.

This recognition reflects the dedication of our students, graduates, instructors, program leadership, clinical and field partners, and everyone who contributes to preparing knowledgeable, skilled, and confident paramedics.

We are incredibly proud of our graduates and the positive impact they continue to make in the communities they serve!

Kellogg Community College is proud to partner with the University of Maryland, Baltimore to offer the nationally recognized Critical Care Emergency Medical Transport Program (CCEMTP) this Fall!

Designed for experienced paramedics, nurses, and respiratory therapists, this intensive program prepares clinicians to care for the sickest and most critically injured patients during interfacility transport.

📍 Two Locations Available:
• Saginaw (Aug. 25 – Dec. 1)
• Kalamazoo (Aug. 27 – Dec. 3)
