The College of Education and Human Development celebrated our 2026–2027 teacher residents during the Host Teacher-Resident Reveal Day Ceremony! ✨

During the ceremony, students entering the teacher residency program found out what host teacher they will be paired with for the upcoming year.

Thank you to our district partners for supporting our future educators and helping provide meaningful, hands-on classroom experiences. 🍎

Participating districts included Beaumont ISD, Hamshire-Fannett ISD, Kountze ISD, Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD, Nederland ISD, Port Arthur ISD, Shepherd ISD and Vidor ISD.

Today at noon, Dr. Borel will serve as a featured panelist for the TCPEA Virtual Brown Bag, “From Draft to Published: Secrets from the Other Side of the Desk.”

Dr. Borel, an assistant professor in the Department of Educational Leadership, will join editors, peer reviewers and publishing scholars to share insight on the academic publishing process, from crafting a strong manuscript to responding to reviewers and choosing the right journal.

The event is free and open to TCPEA members and colleagues in educational leadership and administration.

Meet Grace Gause!

Grace is graduating summa cm laude and has made her mark at Lamar as a Lamar University Ambassador, COEHD Ambassador and LSEA Marketing Officer.

After graduation, Grace will be heading to the classroom as a 5th grade language arts and social studies teacher at Kimmie Brown Elementary in Dayton, Texas.
