🎖️ Military Experience + Cybersecurity Education = A Powerful Pathway!

Military veterans bring valuable technical skills, training, and real-world experience to the classroom and the cybersecurity workforce. But translating military experience into college credit isn’t always straightforward.

That’s where NCyTE’s MOS Pathways resource comes in! 🔐

Designed to help community colleges and other educational institutions identify opportunities to award credit for prior learning based on a veteran’s Military Occupational Specialty (MOS), this resource connects military experience with relevant college coursework and cybersecurity-related skills.

From networking and systems administration to cybersecurity, databases, virtualization, and more, MOS Pathways helps institutions recognize the knowledge veterans have already earned—and build on it.

🎯 The goal? Reduce duplication, accelerate educational pathways, and help veterans move their skills into the next chapter of their careers.

Explore the NCyTE MOS Pathways resource and discover how military experience can become a bridge to cybersecurity education and career success.

🧇 Cybersecurity is like waffles—best when it’s got layers!

Just like those golden, crispy squares hold your syrup in place, multiple layers of protection (passwords, MFA, firewalls) keep the bad stuff from spilling into your digital life.

One flimsy layer? That’s just a pancake. 🍯
Go for the waffle—your data will thank you.

🍪 Your Browser Has Been Hoarding Cookies… and It’s Time for an Intervention.

Think your browser is running a little slow? It might be carrying around years of digital crumbs. 🍪🍪🍪

Cleaning out your browser cookies can:
🔒 Help protect your privacy
⚡ Improve browser performance
🧹 Get rid of outdated website data
🚪 Log you out of old accounts you forgot existed (surprise!)

It’s basically like deep cleaning your house—but for your internet life. Less scrubbing, more clicking, and zero elbow grease required. 😎

Pro tip: Keep your passwords safe with a password manager, and periodically clear cookies and other browsing data.

Because your browser should store useful information—not an entire bakery. 😂

Faculty: Expand Your Global Network! 🌐

NCyTE has partnered with the UK-based organization CSE Connect to create a mechanism allowing faculty from around the world to exchange ideas and papers, research endeavors, and collaboration opportunities. Called the International Cybersecurity Education Collaborative (ICEC), it has already established useful resources that are available to you as NCyTE stakeholders.

In order to take advantage of this resource and join the collaborative, click the button below; there is no cost involved. Attending monthly Morning Coffee/Afternoon Tea webinars (MCATs) will give you a way to participate in the international dialogue and discuss priority issues in workforce and education, while the NCyTE repository will give you access to prior reports that you will find useful to your teaching and research.

What is Oh Behave!?

Oh Behave! is the annual National Cybersecurity Alliance report examining global cybersecurity attitudes, behaviors, and trends. Conducted in partnership with CybSafe the report surveyed more than 25,000 adults from 2021-2025 across multiple countries to explore how people approach online security, their concerns, and where gaps remain. By examining trends over five years, the research moves beyond annual snapshots to provide broader context on how cybersecurity behaviors are shifting, exposing both progress made and weaknesses that remain as the digital landscape has been reshaped by rapid technological advances.

Why it matters:
Every year, the Oh Behave! report underscores the evolving cybersecurity landscape, highlighting the growing impact of AI, rising cyber threats, and the urgent need for better education and protection strategies. As cybersecurity risks become more complex, individuals, businesses, and policymakers must work together to build a safer digital world.
