When you are awarded a private scholarship, be sure to notify WWU! Notifying us allows our department to get a head start on processing your scholarship. This can give us time to prepare your paperwork, update the data in your student profile, and reach out to you or your donor if we have any questions.

How to Notify WWU:
1) Go to the Scholarship Center page (https://www.finaid.wwu.edu/scholarships/pages/).
2) On the left side of the page, select the “Private Scholarships” tab.
3) In the drop-down menu, select “Notify WWU.”
4) Complete the “Scholarship Notification” form and attach relevant documentation.
5) You’re all set! 🎖

WWU Non-Departmental Scholarships for the 2023-2024 school year are open!
To find the applications, start at finaid.wwu.edu/scholarships.
Click on WWU Scholarships, Current Undergraduates, and then Non-Departmental Scholarships. Be sure to check the qualifications for each scholarship and appy for one or all that you are eligible for.

Five $2,000 scholarships offered by Whatcom Educational Credit Union (WECU) will be awarded to Western Washington University students for the 2023-2024 academic year.
Qualifications:
Preference will be given to students who are enrolled at WWU for the 2022-2023 academic year and are planning to enroll for the 2023-2024 academic year.
Full-time undergraduate students, pursuing a degree with at least 90 credits completed prior to the start of fall 2023.
Minimum GPA of 2.75
Demonstrate financial need as determined by the 2023-2024 FAFSA or WASFA
Must be a member of WECU in good standing for at least a year
Due May 1!

Exciting news! The Passport to Scholarship Success is back! This interactive scholarship application is a great way for you to engage in scholarship season AND earn a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship for the 2023-2024 school year! Currently enrolled WWU students can pick up a passport at the Scholarship Center (Old Main 285). Complete 6 of the 10 activities by April 14 for your chance to win!

WWU freshmen and sophomores!
Apply now for the Baccalaureate Scholarship provided by the Washington State Opportunity Scholarship program! This scholarship provides Washington state residents with up to $22,500 towards an eligible degree in a STEM or health care field. This scholarship can be used to cover tuition, fees and other indirect costs of attendance such as housing, transportation, food and more. Funding can be used for any eligible STEM or health care degree at any eligible public or private college or university in Washington state. Visit waopportunityscholarship.org to learn more.
To be eligible you must: be a Washington resident, have filed your FAFSA or WASFA for 2023-2024, have a minimum GPA of 2.75, and plan to pursue an eligible STEM or health care major.
