Faculty members Garth Amundson and Pierre Gour have been invited to participate in a group exhibition with several celebrated artists at Pace University Gallery in NYC. Opening June 11, 2026, "Retold: Altered Photography," is a small group exhibition featuring artists whose work engages photographic manipulation as a means of examining ideas of truth, authorship, and representation. Amundson and Gour are leading the Metro Art Access: NYC class in the city, and will tour the exhibition with the curators and WWU students.

Art 370 HOLGA project

Students use the Holga's special qualities to explore scenes and subjects in unique ways. Prof. Garth Amundson and Instructor Brandon Sawaya co-wrote, submitted, and were awarded a $35,000 STF grant to improve the lighting studio!

We are pleased to inform you that the Student Technology Fee (STF) Tech Initiatives Committee has selected your proposal, Project #5 Lighting Studio Update: Convert 2001 FineArts photog studio into an LED based lighting studio for $ 34,889.00 (full funding) plus your department investment of $1,000.00. The Student Senate and President Randhawa concur with the committee’s decision. This is big news and will impact the Photo area and student experience for years to come.
