Sign Up for Western Lobby Day 2025 by January 17th!

The Sociology Department is proud to announce that 22 students were inducted today into Alpha Kappa Delta (The International Sociology Honor Society) - Eta Chapter at Western Washington University. Since 2001, our department has inducted over 500 members. We are so proud of their academic accomplishments!

The Department of Sociology at Washington State University is hosting a webinar on November 4 from 5-6pm about how to put together graduate school application materials, find relevant graduate programs that are a good fit for student interests, and compare different funding opportunities once they have offers.

Here's the broader call from WSU Sociology:

As part of our department’s broader effort at creating an inclusive and diverse graduate student body, we are hosting an online seminar on applying to sociology graduate programs. Two of our faculty, myself and Professor Jennifer Sherman, will provide useful information to students about putting together their materials, finding the right program for their needs, and informing them about various funding opportunities and models. Our hope is that this seminar will encourage more students to apply to graduate school and to find programs that help them achieve their goals.

The seminar will be held virtually, via Zoom, on Monday, November 4 from 5-6 PM PST. I’ve included a flier that has all the information about the event, including how students can register. They can also use the link or QR code below (also on the flier).
