🎓 NDNU Time Capsule Moment

As we celebrate NDNU’s 175th anniversary, we’re looking back at the people, places, and milestones that have shaped our University’s remarkable history. 💙💛

Founded in 1851 as the College of Notre Dame (CND), NDNU became the first college in California authorized to grant the baccalaureate degree to women. ✨

That legacy of education and opportunity continued with the University’s move to Belmont in 1923, where generations of students have learned, grown, and made their mark.

Here’s to 175 years of history, impact, and education—and to the next chapter of NDNU! 🎉

🌎📚 Advancing Libraries Together

NDNU Librarian Rachel Paprocki recently represented Notre Dame de Namur University at WOLFcon 2026 in Prague, Czechia, an international conference bringing together librarians and open-source software developers from around the world.

Rachel presented alongside colleagues from the Statewide California Electronic Library Consortium (SCELC) and EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) on the successful completion of SCELC’s first cohort of Future of Libraries Is Open (FOLIO).

As part of SCELC’s first FOLIO cohort, NDNU helped advance the implementation of an open-source library management system and pave the way for other academic institutions to join a growing collaborative community.

We’re proud to see NDNU represented on an international stage and contributing to innovative, community-driven approaches to technology in higher education. 💙💛

Throwback to the dorm days at NDNU!

September has a way of bringing back that familiar feeling of a new chapter—suitcases packed, new keys in hand, and the excitement of making a new place feel like home.

For generations of NDNU students, living on the Belmont campus was about much more than having a place to stay. From late-night study sessions and conversations with roommates to shared meals, walks across campus, and plenty of laughs along the way, the dorms were where lifelong friendships and lasting memories were made. 💙💛

As we celebrate 175 years of NDNU, we’re looking back at the people, places, and moments that helped shape our community.
