Tonight, we celebrate a special milestone for our Intro Cohort as they receive their white coats and officially take another meaningful step toward becoming nurses. 🩺✨

The white coat represents more than the beginning of clinical education—it represents compassion, integrity, service, and a commitment to caring for others.

We are so proud of this incredible group of future nurses and all they have already accomplished. Tonight, we celebrate where they are, where they’re going, and the patients and communities they will one day have the privilege of serving. 💜

💜💛 Congratulations to the Scott & White School of Nursing Student Association! 💛💜
We are proud to celebrate our Scott &White School of Nursing Nursing Student Association (NSA) at UMHB for receiving the Community Outreach Project Award at the Texas Nursing Students' Association (TNSA) Convention for the Our Lady of Guadalupe Jamaica 2026 Community Health Service Project.
This impactful initiative brought together SWSON nursing students and the Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA) of Baylor College of Medicine to provide health screenings, patient education, and connections to valuable local health resources for members of the Latino community.
Beyond healthcare services, this project created meaningful opportunities for students to engage with and learn from the traditions, music, and culture of the local Latino community, helping foster cultural competence and strengthen compassionate, patient-centered care.
This recognition reflects the dedication, leadership, and commitment to service demonstrated by our students and community partners. We are incredibly proud of everyone involved in making this project a success and creating a lasting impact in our community.

Today we celebrated an exciting milestone—our Sigma Chapter, Tau Epsilon, is now an At-Large Chapter!
This transition opens the door to increased membership opportunities, stronger collaboration, and expanded support for nursing scholarship, leadership, and professional development throughout our region. As an At-Large Chapter, we can connect more nurses, nurse leaders, educators, and students to the many benefits Sigma offers.

Congrats to Adjunct Faculty member and alum Richard Stoneburner for presenting at the Texas A&M University–Central Texas Nurse Educator Conference on the timely topic: "Reducing Faculty Cognitive Load with AI."
The session explored how artificial intelligence can help nurse educators streamline administrative tasks, enhance course development, improve communication, and free up valuable time for what matters most—student learning and success.
As healthcare education continues to evolve, leveraging AI thoughtfully and ethically can support faculty well-being, increase efficiency, and foster innovation in teaching and learning.
