Join wreath maker Damian Fagan for a hands-on Holiday Wreath Workshop and make two festive wreaths using fresh conifer greens, cones, berries, bows and more. Bring along a few special items to add your own personal touch.

Wreath rings, wire, greens, cones, berries and bows are provided. Please bring pruning shears and gloves, if needed. If time allows, Damian will also share tips for creating greenery swags.

There’s something pretty special about turning a piece of leather into something you made with your own hands. 🧵✨

This past Saturday, our Leatherworking: Classic Tote Bag and Coin Purse class got creative with leather, a few straight lines of sewing, and plenty of hands-on learning. Participants chose their own leather colors and left class with two beautiful handmade pieces — a custom tote bag and coin purse — along with new skills and confidence for future leatherworking projects.

🌿 Creativity met conservation at our Day in the Outdoors: Think Wild Youth Camp!

In partnership with Think Wild Central Oregon, campers explored the connections between animals, habitats and people while learning about Central Oregon’s unique ecosystem. They created clay wildlife sculptures outdoors and designed colorful window art to help prevent birds from colliding with glass.

From hands-on projects to outdoor discovery, these curious campers turned what they learned into meaningful action for local wildlife!

🌊 Ready for an unforgettable Oregon Coast adventure?

Join G169: Field Geology — Exploration of the PNW, a four-day field course packed with camping, hiking, and geologizing at Beverly Beach. No geology experience needed — this class is for everyone, and you do not need to be a COCC student to register.

You’ll depart from COCC’s Bend Campus at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 16, camp at Beverly Beach Campground, cook meals together, explore the coast through a geologic lens, and return Sunday evening, July 19.

Course fee includes:
🏕️ Camping
🥾 Field exploration and hiking
🍽️ Food
🚐 Transportation

An orientation will be held via Zoom from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 24. Participants should be prepared for uneven surfaces, carrying a backpack with food and water and changing coastal weather.
