"I was born in Romania, but moved with my family to Germany before I started High School. After graduating, I took two gap years to work, save money, and travel the world before continuing my education. I explored places like Vietnam, Australia, Guatemala, Oman, and Northern Europe. Even while taking time away from school, I always knew I wanted to pursue higher education and study psychology.

I also wanted to continue my athletic career. After participating in a soccer showcase in Germany, coaches at LMC saw my film and offered me a chance to continue playing the sport I love. The chance to study psychology, continue to be part of a team, and do so affordably made studying here an easy choice. During my two years here, I was given opportunities I never imagined. On top of playing soccer, I joined the cross-country team while also serving as Vice President of Phi Theta Kappa and Student Senate, and helping serve as a student representative on the Institutional Review Board.

While my involvement outside the classroom was wide-ranging, my passion inside the classroom was focused on psychology. My deep interest in the subject led me to conduct an independent observation study at a gymnastics club in Germany. It was here that I examined how children interact and build relationships through sports. I then turned my notes into a research paper titled “Peer Dynamics in Practice: An Ethnographic Observation of Children’s Social and Motivational Behavior in a Recreational Movement-Based Group Setting.” Then, after returning to LMC, I worked with LMC Department Chair Sean Newmiller to refine and submit it to the Liberal Arts Network for Development.

My research was recognized at their conference in Detroit, where I was able to present my findings. My busy and exciting spring was capped off by graduating from LMC with a degree in psychology. Along with my diploma, I was offered the privilege of delivering the commencement address at the ceremony.

If I could offer one piece of advice, it would be this: take life one step at a time. It's easy to overthink big decisions, but every journey is different. Trust yourself and go for it!"

“I want to perform professionally. It's my dream. Chicago, New York, Tennessee, cruise ships, anywhere I can do musical theater, theater, or music.

It started in 7th grade. My choir teacher said, ‘Hey, I'm doing The Little Mermaid Junior at the high school. Do you want to do it?’ It sounded scary, but she encouraged me. So, I did. I absolutely fell in love with it.

From there, I performed in Children’s Music Workshop productions until I was 18, and I still perform in their Teen Stock program. As a high school senior, I participated as a community member in Lake Michigan College’s production of Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief. Then, as an LMC student, I had major roles in School of Rock: The Musical and Big Fish.

I prefer performing, but being behind the scenes is also part of what I do. I've been a costume assistant, done makeup, assistant-directed CMW’s The Wizard of Oz, and now do their digital marketing. It takes a village to put the story together, and I like being part of the village.

After high school, I wanted to study musical theater. I chose LMC for the smaller class sizes and one-on-one instruction. The performing arts community on campus was a big draw, too. And of course, the free tuition for two years.

LMC instructors prioritized our success and encouraged me to be well-rounded. I took piano, guitar, voice lessons, and recording class. I'm really proud of myself for trying something new by joining Vox LMC. Vocal jazz is its own art form, and I loved every second of it.

This fall, I'm double majoring in musical theater and arts administration at Western Michigan University. Beyond performing, I would love to work in children's theater. Just working in a creative space is where I want to be.

If you told me in middle school that I was going to perform in front of people and try things I didn't know anything about, I wouldn't have believed it. LMC has helped me grow and become a more confident version of myself. If I had jumped straight into a university, I don't think I'd be where I am today.”
