Congrats to Zeta Tau Alpha & Alpha Sigma Phi for winning the People's Choice Award, Director's Award, and 1st Place Overall Award as the winners of the 88th Annual Greek Sing 2019!! Congrats to everyone else who participated and thank you to everyone who came out to support all groups. It was truly a night to remember!

Welcome back to the Hive, everyone! Hope all of you fraternity & sorority members had a relaxing & exciting summer! We are ready for another great year in Fraternity & Sorority Life (FSL) here at BW! 🐝

This week, the FSL team has been volunteering at Give Kids the World, a nonprofit organization that creates a week-long vacation spot for children with a terminal illness and their family. The team has been helping serve meals, set up & run events, as well as operate rides for the children. They have one more day of service left and are grateful for this opportunity to serve these families. It's been a great experience so far.

The FSL Alternative Break team made it safely down to Florida and are safe and sound! They will be volunteering all week at a nonprofit organization called Give Kids the World Village. The focus of the trip is Youth & Terminal Ilness led by trip leader, Daniel Eierman. The team was there bright and early this morning serving breakfast and will return tonight for more service work

And they're off! The FSL Summer Alternative Break trip to Florida hit the road tonight and should be arriving tomorrow night in Kissimmee, FL! Stay tuned for more details of the trip in the next week!

Our next spotlight is our IFC Advisor, Mattie Smyth! Mattie's hometown is Walla Walla, WA and she completed her undergrad at Creighton University in Omaha, NE where she got a degree in Journalism/Public Relations. Her affliation as an undergrad was Kappa Kappa Gamma! Now, Mattie is currently going to Graduate School at Bowling Green State University studying College Student Personnel and she will be graduating next month! In her spare time she enjoys exploring the metro parks, blogging, painting, and drinking a good cup of coffee.

Next year Mattie will be the Coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA. She says:
"My favorite part about working with the FSL community at BW is watching students grow into confident and talented leaders."

We will miss you next year Mattie and are excited to see you grow at Georgia Tech!
