Congratulations to our 2017 award recipients and honorees.
Blake Knox 16' - Outstanding New Member
Blake currently serves as the chapter's secretary and has done a great job of being a leader in the fraternity and on campus.
Alex Papke 14' - Outstanding Executive Member
Alex currently serves as the chapter's vice president and is a pivotal member of our chapter, he not only serves as a positive role model for all members but as a role model on campus as well.
Jacob Staude 15' - Outstanding Member
Jacob is an outstanding young man who goes above and beyond to make sure that every brother always has smile on their face. Jacob truly embodies the characteristics of Phi.
Johnny Donovan 13' - Outstanding Graduating Senior
Johnny is someone that will be missed in the undergraduate side of the chapter but we know he will do amazing feats as he continues his learning career at Cincinnati where he will go for his Ph.D in Cancer Cell Biology.
Ryan Cross 95' - Taylor A. Borradaile Alumnus Award
The Taylor A. Borradaile Alumnus Award is awarded that recognized three alumni for outstanding achievement in their field or endeavor. Ryan has 20+ years in institutional relations and development.
Mike Dovilla 94' - Phi Award
The Phi Award is awarded to an alumnus for outstanding service to his chapter. Mike embodies everything that it means to be a brother of Phi Kappa Tau. Through his constant dedication to the Alpha Omega chapter and now the national fraternity as president. Mike has helped this fraternity grow from good to great.
John Sayers 78' Bethany College - Presidential Challenge Coin
Matt Long 08'
The Presidential Challenge Coin is awarded to a brother that goes above and beyond the call of duty to support, sustain, and strengthen Phi Kappa Tau for the future.
John, since becoming an alumnus, Sayers has attended multiple National Conventions, volunteered on numerous committees, and served for more than two decades on the Phi Board of Governors as chapter advisor, BOG chairman and risk management advisor. He still is copy editor for The Laurel.
Matt currently serves as the chapters Alumni Relations BOG Chairman. We would like to not only congratulate Matt for this honor but also thank him for making all of this weekends celebrations a huge success.
We also had 8 brothers who received recognition for there 50 years of membership in the fraternity.
Finally we would like to thank Tom Brook 65' who presented the chapter with a beautiful hand carved coat of arms to the chapter that will be displayed in the chapter room.
