Our MFE pre-program courses in Math, Statistics, and Python are open for registration!
Taught 100% online by UC Berkeley Haas MFE faculty, each 30-hour course builds the quant foundations that finance careers are built on. Complete the Python course and you will clear the minimum coding bar for most tech and quant interviews. Finish any course and you earn a UC Berkeley Haas certificate of completion.

One might think most finance careers tend to move in a straight line. But Chandler Fang MFE17 took a harder, more interesting road to where he is today.

Like most graduates from the Berkeley MFE, Chandler landed a quant researcher role at JPMorgan, working on the kind of projects the MFE prepares you for. But he kept following the harder questions, first transitioning into JPMorgan's blockchain team, then pivoting to Ripple, and now to t54 labs, the emerging startup he founded to answer one that didn't have an answer yet: when AI agents start moving money on their own, who makes sure they can be trusted?

Our students rang the closing bell, went behind the scenes, connected with leadership in trading, research, and software, and saw firsthand what it takes to move from theory to the trading floor. UC Berkeley Haas MFE students spent the day visiting some of Chicago’s biggest names in trading and derivatives.

From morning to afternoon, students met with MFE alumni, simulated intense trading events, networked with recruiters and employees at each firm, and toured the trading floors.
