Many thanks to our guest seminar speaker today, Dr. Gina Leinninger from MSU. An engaging presentation was enjoyed by all, we learned lots about the neurobiology of appetite, and our Neurobiology class appreciated your kind attention to their many questions!

The club fair was busy and full of energy. It was great to see our biology students representing Biophilia, the Pre-PA Club, the Pre-Dent Club, the Pre-Med Club, and the Museum Club!

Exploring genetics with fruit flies. Students have been doing this for over a hundred years, yet it never gets old! In fact, an undergraduate student, Alfred Sturtevant, constructed the first genetic map using these flies. That was in 1913.

Nothing says “fall” like pumpkin carving—with a little neurophysiology mixed in! Our systems physiology students put their knowledge of the brain and nervous tissue to work, carving neurons, ventricles, synapses, eyes, and more and their creations did not disappoint!
