Sacnas DMV

Sacnas DMV Welcome to SACNAS DMV! This group is an open forum for all the members of SACNAS in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. Once again, welcome to SACNAS DMV!

SACNAS DMV is a group that seeks to gather the three major chapters of the DMV: University of Maryland (College Park), NIH, and NOVA. Our mission is to "foster the success of Chicano/Hispanic and Native American scientists to attain advanced degrees, careers, and positions of leadership in science" (SACNAS.org). The DC, Maryland, and Virginia metropolitan areas are large and diverse, full of innov

ation potential and scientists of all trades and origins. This Facebook group's goals are to strengthen the bonds within all the DMV chapters, increase the number of inter-chapter events, enhance our community outreach, and increase our SACNAS membership. If you would like to contact us, please send us a Facebook message and we will reply as soon as we can!

What an example to follow! Our past and current NIH Chapter Presidents maintain mentoring relationships with each other! In doing so, they seek to promote higher education in STEM, find strategies to disseminate relevant information in the DMV, and promote career development in the NIH community.

All of them will be attending Sacnas 2016 National Conference! If you see them at the conference, please get a hold of them and tell them a little bit about yourself. They will be happy to celebrate your accomplishments with you!
