This Memorial Day, we remember those whose stories extend far beyond the classroom, the field, or the communities they once called home.

Moravian alumnus and standout Greyhound athlete David Griffith arrived at Moravian in 1940 on scholarship, becoming a leader in football, baseball, and campus life before answering a greater call to serve. After joining the U.S. Marines, Griffith gave his life while serving as a platoon leader at Iwo Jima in 1945 and was awarded the Purple Heart for his sacrifice.

This Memorial Day, we honor Lt. David Griffith and all who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage and legacy continue to inspire generations.

We remember. We honor. We are grateful. 🇺🇸

Before there was Homecoming Queen, there was Miss Moravian 👑

The Miss Moravian tradition began in 1936 and remained a beloved campus tradition until it was replaced by Homecoming Queen in 1972.

This photo captures the crowning of Miss Moravian on May 15, 1954, during the Spring Festival celebration—offering a glimpse into a longtime Moravian tradition and student life decades ago. 💙

In this episode, Kristian “Krissy” Wolf ’26, one of two 2026 Shining Lights Alumni Fellows, shares her experiences as a Math Secondary Education major and student leader at Moravian University.

Krissy discusses her passion for education and community through her many campus roles, including Senior Resident Advisor, Riley ’82 Center for Career Success Student Ambassador, QRC Math Tutor, and President of Math Society.
