The Mass was beautifully presided over by Bishop David O’Connell from the Diocese of Trenton.

🏀 Congratulations to Our State Champion! 🏀

The State Council Basketball Free Throw Contest was held on Saturday, March 21, and we are proud to announce an incredible achievement by one of our own!

Our 9‑year‑old girls champion, Emma Sagrado, represented Knights of Columbus Council 1179 and District 34 with outstanding skill and sportsmanship. Emma earned her place at the State Contest after winning the Trenton Diocese Free Throw Contest on March 14, advancing to compete against 9‑year‑old girls from three other dioceses across New Jersey.

During the State competition, Emma displayed impressive consistency and focus. After 25 free throw attempts, she was tied with another competitor, each making 18 out of 25 shots. The contest then moved to a dramatic tie‑breaker round of five additional free throws. Emma rose to the occasion, sinking 4 out of 5 free throws, edging out her competition by just one basket to claim the State Council Championship!

🎉 Congratulations, Emma, on winning the State Council Basketball Free Throw Contest! 🎉

We are so proud of your hard work, determination, and composure under pressure.

Emma attends Sacred Heart School, and her family are parishioners at Sacred Heart Parish. Thank you, Emma, for representing your school, parish, council, and district with such pride!

Council 1179 Santa Maria in Mt. Holly, NJ is proud to celebrate Paul Kennedy and Russ Barone on being presented with Honorary Life Member traveling cards—a well‑deserved recognition of extraordinary dedication to the Knights of Columbus.

Honorary Life Membership is achieved when a member reaches age 70 with at least 25 years of service, or by completing 50 consecutive years of membership regardless of age. This honor reflects decades of commitment, service, and leadership within the Order.

On Friday, March 6, the Santa Maria Knights of Columbus and Columbiettes (Council 1179) in Mount Holly hosted their second Soup and Sandwiches gathering following the Stations of the Cross. More than 50 parishioners joined us for a light meal, warm fellowship, and a wonderful evening together. Photos from the night are below!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and helped with setup—we couldn’t have done it without you.

El Consejo 7814 Cristo Redentor de los Caballeros de Colón tuvo el honor de participar junto a la comunidad mexicana en una hermosa iniciativa de solidaridad. A través de la venta de enchiladas, logramos recaudar fondos en apoyo a nuestra parroquia Jesús el Buen Pastor en Beverly, NJ.
