The piles of clothes are stacked high in the living room, the car is packed, and the GPS is programmed for Biddeford, Maine! 🚗💙

The excitement continues to build as your new Nor’easters make their way to campus and prepare to settle into this exciting new chapter. We know there’s a lot to take in - for them and for you.

And while we know it can be hard to start “letting go,” please know that they have a team here looking out for them.

At Auxiliary Services, we’re Taking Care of the “U” in UNE. From mail and packages to printing, copying, and laundry, we’re here to help with the everyday things that make campus life a little easier.

Sometimes, it’s simply being there to answer a question, lend a hand, or help your student figure things out as they settle into life at UNE.

📬 We’re also hiring! We’re looking for Work-Study eligible students to join our team and work in our mail rooms across campus. It’s a great way to earn money, gain experience, and become part of the UNE community.

So, parents - take a breath. They’re in good hands. 😊

📬 UNE Mail & Package Services - What Students & Families Need to Know! University of New England Parents

With our undergraduate students beginning to move back onto campus and First-Year Move-In just around the corner, we wanted to share some helpful information about UNE’s mail and package services, procedures, and protocols.

There’s a lot of information here - but for good reason! We’ve pulled together answers to many of the most frequently asked questions we receive from students and families throughout the year.

Included in these graphics, you’ll find everything from the proper way to address a letter or package for your student while they’re living on campus, to package notifications and delivery times, pickup locations, outgoing mail and returns, and much more. We’ve even included mailing information for families and friends whose students are headed across the Atlantic to UNE’s beautiful campus in Tangier, Morocco! (expect a 2 to 3 week delivery window for mail and packages)

We encourage students and families to save these graphics for future reference - there’s a lot here, and chances are they’ll answer a question you have at some point during the year!

🧺 College Laundry Has Come a Long Way! ⚡

First-year move-in is almost here, and while you’re thinking about residence hall essentials, bedding, mini-fridges, and everything else that comes with the big move, there’s one more thing worth getting ready for now… LAUNDRY!
UNE is proudly entering Year 2 of our partnership with Automatic Laundry, and our students have access to an entirely new fleet of modern, connected washers and dryers across campus.

And after our first year, the numbers tell quite a story:

🧺 142,185 laundry cycles across campus

🔧 300 service issues identified

🚚 Only 40 required a service truck to come to campus!

📱 The rest were addressed through connected technology and remote service capabilities- often without a technician ever needing to visit campus.
That means more reliable equipment, quicker response to issues, and fewer interruptions for our students.

📲 Get Ready Before Move-In!
With all the excitement of move-in building, now is a great time for students and families to learn how UNE's laundry program works and download the Laundry Connect app before arriving on campus.
Once you're students arrive here, QR codes in the laundry rooms make getting connected easy - and then they'll be ready when that inevitable first load of college laundry starts piling up!

A successful career isn’t measured solely by accomplishments, titles, or years of service - it’s measured by the lives that are better because you were part of them.

Yesterday was a beautiful reflection of that as we celebrated and said goodbye to Joel. For the past 10 years, Joel Readout has served the UNE students, faculty, and staff with unwavering dedication, pride, and professionalism - all while wearing a smile that could brighten even the busiest of days.

It was especially awesome to see so many colleagues, students, and alumni stopping by throughout the day to wish him well. Their presence was a testament to the relationships Joel built over the years and the positive impact he had on so many people across the UNE community.

As the saying goes:

“A smile is a universal spark that can instantly melt away stress, build connection, and completely brighten someone’s day. It is a simple, cost-free gesture that holds immense emotional power.”

Joel embodied that spirit every day, and his positive impact on our campus community will be felt long after his final shift.

Thank you for everything, Joel. Enjoy this next chapter of life - you’ve certainly earned it. Wishing you health, happiness, and many wonderful adventures ahead! University of New England Parents
