A message from Phi Alpha Theta's Chapter Alpha Nu Rho's President, Jaden Harris, and Community Outreach, Caitlin Power:
We would like to formally share our disgust in the use of ai in Phi Alpha Theta National's recent social media posts. Being a part of a National Society that prides themselves in "seeking truth" while using gen ai is frankly disturbing. We would like it to be abundantly clear that we do not condone this behavior by headquarters and still pride ourselves in the hard work we have done with our own brain. Studying history is not robotic. It is not about memorizing every date and historical event. Studying history is about learning how to analyze primary sources and the past as a whole. Studying history builds critical thinking skills. Something that ai can not replicate.
The text images on this post are of a comment made by Jaden on Phi Alpha Theta National LinkedIn account. We do not want our headquarters to paint the image that historians are in support of using gen ai by any means.
Lastly we would like to acknowledge that the first image was artwork made by . We support human made artwork and artists. Please show them their support, as well as support those in the history (or any other) communities that showcase real art and real hard work rather than gen ai.
