For summer 2022, the U.S. Forest Service - Umpqua National Forest seeks two GeoCorps participants to continue its ongoing Geomorphic Roads Analysis and Inventory project. The participants will use the Geomorphic Roads Analysis and Inventory Package (GRAIP) to quantify road surface sediment production and delivery, assess mass wasting and gully risk, and stream crossing failure potential. This will allow the team to pin-point where sediment is entering the North Umpqua River and its tributaries and where the places with the highest risks for gullies, landslides and stream crossing failures are.
