Binghamton's chapter of the Remedy Project has made their campaign available on their website! The goal of the campaign is to demand an investigation into the staff members who committed human rights abuses against inmate Shane Cratty at the Butner Federal Correctional Institution (FCI Butner). To help achieve this goal, viewers of the online campaign page can scroll down to the "Take Action" section of the website and enter their information such that the Remedy Project may send correspondence to prison administration and elected officials on their behalf. Those who want to help can also take part in phone banking--instructions are listed in the second slide of this post. We hope you consider contributing to this very important cause!

Rose Casey’s book talk this past Wednesday was a wonderful success! Conversations around her “Aesthetic Impropriety: Property Law and Postcolonial Style” (2025) included questions of how fictional narratives come into contact with legal ones; how ownership figures into authors’ relationships with their intellectual work; and how temporality affects the interplay between literature and law, with Dr. Casey detailing examples from India, Nigeria, South Africa, and more. We extend our gratitude to her, and to all those who came to the talk. We look forward to seeing you at our next event!
