Binghamton University Harpur College Welcome to Harpur College of Arts and Sciences, the intellectual heart of Binghamton University.

With over 7,500 undergraduate students and almost 1,500 graduate students, Harpur is also the largest of Binghamton University’s six schools. Harpur College is the liberal arts heart of Binghamton University, and its largest college, making up nearly 60 percent of the student body.

Congratulations to geography graduate student Alana McKeon, who received the Edward Prentice Award for her contributions to academia and extracurricular life. In addition to her academic work, Alana works as a graduate assistant for residential education in the Dickinson Community, hosts a jazz show and directs a weekly news program for WHRW Binghamton Radio, and is a volunteer with the Vestal Fire Department and the St. James Food Pantry.

Associate Professor of Chemistry Jennifer Hirschi received the 2026 Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award from the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation, the first Binghamton faculty member to do so.
