SUNY FEE Referendum Vote Re-elections

The biennial ballot for the SUNY Fee Referendum will be available on the GSOs BlackBoard site. Polls will open on April 14th & April 15th and voting is open to all GSO members.
Polls open at 12:00am on Thursday the 14th, and close at 11:59pm on Friday the 15th.

The GSO has worked on updating the website to make it a better place for interaction with the students. The links for the new website are gso.binghamton.edu or www.gsobinghamton.org

The GSO has also worked on making a discussion forum, where in any student from Binghamton University can post their queries and a student who is a user of the forum can give suggestions to the query. The queries can be put under various categories like campus events, housing, and many more. The link for the forum is www.gsobinghamton.org/discuss or gso.binghamton.edu/discuss.

GSO 2015-2016 Election Results:

The results for the GSO Election have been ratified by the senate: Shengsheng Zhou received the majority of votes for President. Ben Marley received the majority of votes for Vice President. Sarah Marcus received the majority votes for GVPMA. The remaining questions regarding constitutional changes all received "yes" as the majority vote.

Summer East Gym Access

The following groups have access to the Rec Center over the summer:
· Students enrolled in summer or fall courses
· Students employed on campus for the summer (5:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Mon.- Fri. access only)
· Faculty/staff (5:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Mon.-Fri. access only)
· Current fitness or all-inclusive members

Students must be active in Banner and enrolled in classes in order to be eligible to access the Recreation Center East Gym over the summer. This requirement is established by the University’s policy that student access is contingent on continuous enrollment.

Therefore, PhD or ABD students teaching, conducting research or taking classes must remain enrolled in order to be eligible for Rec Center access. Students who are NOT currently enrolled in summer or fall courses must purchase a summer affiliate all-inclusive fitness membership.

During the summer, graduate students who are employed by a department but are NOT taking courses must be entered into the HR system as an employee, at which time you can receive an “employee” status ID card. An employee ID card will allow you faculty/staff access privileges 5:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Mon.-Fri. only. Additional access requires a fitness or recreation membership.

Undergraduate students who are employed on campus for the summer but are NOT taking courses must obtain an “employee” status ID card at the Registrar’s Office. Employee ID cards will work for entrance purposes 5:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Mon.-Fri. only. Additional access requires a fitness or recreation membership.

PhD or ABD ID cards are not eligible for access unless you are registered for summer or fall courses. Summer employees must have an employee ID card for access. You may need to speak to your academic department regarding your student/employee status.

Summer memberships will go on sale beginning Monday, May 4 both online and in person at the Rec Center. Summer membership access includes May 4 – August 21, 2015.
