What does it really mean to be a Lovely Latin Lady?

ΣΙΑ is more than just the Greek letters we wear. Behind our Hermandad are three words that mean so much to us: Solidaridad, Inspiración, and Amistad!🌹

Solidaridad is standing beside one another. Whether it’s supporting an Hermana, showing up for our chapter, or giving back to the community around us, we believe there is strength in standing together.

Inspiración is pushing each other to grow and be the best versions of ourselves. In our academics, leadership, service, and in celebrating and sharing our diverse Latino cultures, we hope to inspire each other and those around us.

Amistad is the friendship that brings it all together. The sisterhood we build doesn’t end when we graduate from Virginia Tech. It connects generations of Hermanas and creates friendships that stay with us long after our undergraduate years.

That’s what makes us the Lovely Latin Ladies. ❤️💛💙

Why SIA?
To foster meaningful relationships with other Latina women, be a representation of academic excellence within the Latino community, and connect more deeply with my culture while finding people who share similar values, backgrounds, and interests.

Fun Fact: My favorite cookie in the world is from a coffee shop in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It’s an XXL pistachio and raspberry cookie that actually tastes like heaven on earth.

Celebrating 22 years of the Alpha Omicron Chapter of Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc.

As the first Latina-based sorority at Virginia Tech 🧡 our chapter has built a community of strong Hermanas from all over the world. We are proud of our history and excited to continue growing and expanding our Hermandad!

Here’s to 22 years and many more to come!
