Please join the Department of Chemistry for our first Industry Seminar of the semester! Michelle Pomatto, Staff Scientist at Carlisle Construction Materials, is giving a talk titled “From Molecules to Membranes: Structure, Processing, and Performance in Flexible PVC Roofing Systems.”

The talk is scheduled for Monday, October 19 at 2:30 p.m. in Hahn Hall North 402.

Pomatto will be answering questions at an Undergraduate Student Q&A session before her talk at 1:30 p.m. in Hahn Hall North 400.

She will also be answering questions at a Graduate Student Q&A immediately following her talk at 3:30 p.m. in Hahn Hall North 400.

Apply to Polymer Science for Advancing Biologically-inspired Research Opportunities Across Disciplines (Poly-ABROAD)! Applications close Friday, October 9 at noon!

This is a chance to spend the summer engaging in research in Mainz, Germany. Participants receive support for travel, housing, project materials, and a stipend for living expenses while in Germany.

Six students will work on projects focused on bio-inspired materials at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research (MPIP).

Graduate and undergraduate students engaged in soft materials research are encouraged to apply!!

This year marks the centennial anniversary of Davidson Hall — and we’re celebrating! Constructed in 1926, thousands of chemists have called Davidson Hall home, spending hours learning and researching in its classrooms and labs.

To mark the centennial we are celebrating undergraduate education and experiential learning by raising funds for chemistry undergraduate research scholarships.
