Meet Ava Gomez, a junior advertising major from Chesapeake, Virginia!

Ava serves as the Director of Social Media and Photography for the Hokies Activities Board.

In the role, she develops social media campaigns, creates and edits promotional content and analyzes HAB’s performance metrics. She also oversees the group’s Communications Committee, a team of students learning to manage a social media account and develop promotional strategies.

Ava is also a H.U.G. Leader in Comm 1004!

β€œThe School of Communication at Virginia Tech has given me the knowledge, opportunities, and connections to gain real experience in my major. Through my classes, I had the chance to work for an overseas nonprofit to develop and present an advertising strategy designed to help them increase donor awareness.”
