Today is the day! 🎓 Congratulations to all of our doctoral graduates

One of those graduates is Rebecca, who has earned her doctorate in Higher Education. She’ll be continuing her journey by working in a medical school or health professions program, supporting students as they grow and succeed.

One of her favorite parts of her time at Virginia Tech was being involved with events at the Center for the Arts — ranging from workshops to performances and even aerial circus arts demonstrations!

Wishing Rebecca all the best as she takes this next step in her career.

Ph.D. Incoming 🎓

Arnaz will be receiving her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.

She plans to continue her work in career and technical education and is stepping into a leadership role as President of the Virginia Association for Career and Technical Education. She is passionate about supporting teachers, schools, and students across Virginia.

A special part of her journey was the support and mentorship she received from her advisor, Carol Mullen, who guided her throughout her doctoral studies.

Before arriving at Virginia Tech, Jacob Perkins overcame cancer, got sober, and wrote "The Dinosaurs" - his most recent off-Broadway play that ran from Feb. 4 to March 8 of this year.

As a student in the School of Education’s counselor education program, he brought those experiences into work centered on empathy, connection, and supporting others through life’s challenges.

Now preparing to graduate with the Class of 2026, Jacob’s story reflects resilience, purpose, and the impact of education grounded in service to others.
